90 MINUTE PRIVATE, INTENSIVE COURSE FOR INDIVIDUAL RIDERS

This is a superb opportunity to have private attention and feel no rush or challenges from other riders or lack of time or Leslie's divided attention that is sometimes the case during the conventional clinic format.  She will assist you in the development of horse-handling skills on the ground and from the saddle, mounted equitation. She will evaluate and assist you, as needed in your decision-making in the moment process. You will be instructed in the use of feel & release techniques to obtain soft, willing responses from your horse.

NOTE: Participation with a sound horse is a requirement of this event.

What will be covered? The riders can choose -- Mounted work, ground work, or a bit of both.

What exercises will you work on? You can think over and choose from the following basic maneuvers, or suggest another  preference.

1.) Leading up Freely

2.) Raising and lowering the head and neck / lateral flexion at the poll.

3.) Elevation of and access to the shoulders, bi-lateral access to the ribs , loin, croup and longitudinal access to Hindquarters from the saddle and the ground....these pieces are often missing from the rider's tool box, and are essential to include in a thorough and well-balanced exercise and conditioning program.

4.) Exercises to achieve balance and improve straightness in the various gaits, with & without reins / Fundation pieces REAL collection made clear. (Is your horse soft and willing in the bridle, responsive the the movement of the reins on his neck, and flexible thorughout his whole body at the walk, trot and canter?)

5.) raise and lower horse's head, with & without reins

6.) Upward and downward transitions on the lunger and under saddle

7.) Establishing / perfecting turns and transitions in your foundation: serpentines and Figure 8s

8.) leads and lead changes

9.) handling the hooves from both sides of the horse / ask for the feet, and receive each one!

10..) trailer loading -- lead the horse in / send your horse in. Depending on the horse and the situation, either way could be the best choice.
