Two New Book Titles from Diamond Lu Productions

In 1995, Bill Dorrance invited Leslie Desmond to learn more about horses at his ranch on Mt. Toro in Monterey County, CA. For the next four years, she was taught new skills in riding, roping and training horses. Bill showed her the way he started young horses, and re-trained spoiled ones, using ‘feel and release.’ Their work together resulted in the classic, 'True Horsemanship Through Feel,' which Leslie co-authored in 1999, just before his death at 93. Since then, Leslie has travelled to many parts of the world, passing this knowledge along to others who want a better connection to their horses.

"Riding With Bill"

by Leslie Desmond

RIDING WITH BILL is a first-hand account of Leslie’s apprenticeship with Bill Dorrance. In this fascinating, candid chronicle Leslie documents Bill's lessons from her notes and tape recordings.  The book is illustrated with over 200 photos of Bill at work, and etchings by rancher/artist Phil Tognazzini of Cayucos, CA. First-time horse owners and old hands alike will find inspiring instruction and words of heartfelt encouragement in this book -- handed down, as Bill was known to say, "from one friend to another."
